PE
Intent
PE at Sayes Court will provide pupils the opportunity to develop their confidence to become successful participants in physical activity.
Implementation
Each PE lesson has progressive activities that are designed to inspire and engage pupils. Activities can be differentiated to ensure that all pupils are challenged and are able to make progress each week. Children will be able to:
- Increase control and co-ordination.
- Increase their ability to apply tactics
- Improve observation skills and reflect on their own and others work
- Understand the effects of exercise on the body
- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Promote an understanding of safe practice and well-being
What this looks like in practice:
- All year groups in the school, including EYFS, have access to at least one hour of PE each week
- Pupils have access to a variety of physical activities equipment at break times
- Pupils have access to a range of physical activity based after-school clubs
Impact
Through engaging PE lessons, lunch time activities and after school clubs, we aim to develop every child to have a love for sport and ensure they understand the positive impact that this has on their overall health and fitness.
The scheme we use is getsetforpe
